The owners of this home initially wanted to remodel, but then had second thoughts and just wanted to sell "as-is". I bought the house and did a typical remodel
We skipped the luxury items like soft close doors in the kitchen but splurged on stained pine doors and wood trim because we wanted to a mountain house feel.

We kept the size of the kitchen the same, but moved the door to the garage over a couple feet. This allowed refridgerator to connected to the cabinets instead of floating in the middle of the wall. The living room was dark and felt like a cave. We replaced the rotting french doors with a large slider to allow more in more sunlight and painted the dirty brick mantle white. The original slatted ceiling with wood beams made the room look like it was custom made.Request Material and Cost Sheet
I just happened to be at Benjamin Moore paint store while their color consultant was there. She recommended "Copley Gray" with the red door. I loved it! the gray goes with the existing brick and looks good with the green grass. I will definitely use this color again. If I could only do one thing on this house, it would be the exterior and interior paint. You will get the most value from a popular nuetral color.Request Material and Cost Sheet
You will notice that the colors and style are throughout the entire house. Try to avoid mixing carpet, tile and wood. The laminte flooring in this house tied evertything together. The wall color was light and bright and we painted over the dirty bricks mantels with the same white trim color.
